The Quality Analyst will be responsible for supporting quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives. Reporting to the Quality Manager at the Etobicoke Casting Plant, the Quality Analyst will focus on analyzing production processes, maintaining quality documentation, supporting audits, scrap reporting and calibration systems to ensure compliance with automotive quality standards. The position includes membership within the local plant salary bargaining unit.
Main Responsibilities Include
- Perform audits as required of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products
- Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics and trends
- Investigate quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and continuous improvement actions
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to resolve quality related issues
- Maintain and update quality related documentation, including control plans, inspection instructions, checklists, audit reports, and records (eg. MQAS)
- Support compliance to IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and other relevant automotive quality standards
- Assist in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives
- Utilize statistical tools (SPC, MSA, FMEA, etc.) to support data driven decision making
- Compile and analyze relevant mfg. data for reporting and improvement initiatives
- Conduct daily reviews in the Non-Conformance Tracking System (NCT)
- Administration of the gauge calibration system to ensure compliance
- Actively support and participate in SPW Manufacturing activities and continuous improvement efforts

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (technical field is preferred)
- Minimum TWO (2) years of relevant experience within the automotive or manufacturing industry
- Strong knowledge of automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001)
- Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies (eg. 8D, PPAP, APQP, FMEA)
- Experience with data analysis and quality software (eg. Minitab, MS Excel, Power BI)
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Team-oriented with a positive and professional demeanor
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
- Familiarity with OEM and Tier 1 supplier quality requirements
