Work Arrangement :
Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Concord three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business].
The Team:
We are seeking Motorsport Engineering interns to do complex analytical work that would positively contribute to the bottom line of our culture and our company. You would have the opportunity to support the simulation, aerodynamics, CAD, performance, and software engineering GM Motorsports Teams. Work involves leadership ability, critical thinking, and communication skills. Exercises independent determinations with mentorship from supervisors.
What You’ll Do:
The GM Motorsports Software Engineering is seeking for Web Software Engineer Intern to support the development of cutting end frontend applications needed by both GM racing teams across multiple series (NASCAR, IndyCar, Sport Cars, etc.) and other GM Motorsports Organization groups. You’ll be designing and implementing UI/UX for tools from customers feedback in collaboration with senior web software engineers, and spanning different domains: apps to analyze and plotting the aerodynamics of a racing car; tools to help studying visually tire models; services and tools for ingesting and analyzing telemetry and timing scoring data generated during race or test events; etc. The goal is to provide you with the widest range of experience of all the areas Software Engineering is applicable to Motorsports.
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Must be graduating between December 2026 and June 2029
- Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week
- Angular and Typescript programming language skills for web apps development.
- NET programming technology, with C#.
- Understanding of how RESTful APIs work and how to integrate them with web frontends.
- UI Unit Testing for validation and reliability purposes.
- Security principles applicable to Enterprise applications such as role-based access.
- Strong organization skills, forward thinking mentality, and a superb attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, constantly evolving environment, with exceptional work ethic and integrity.
- Be a Team Player: emphasize team over self, pointing out the contribution of others and share credit; be proactive, self-motivated, and diligent to work harder without having to be pushed; able to be interpersonally appropriate and aware with the rest of teammates, listening to them, and engaging in conversations intently.
What will give you a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- Strong interest in controls engineering, dynamic systems, optimization, data analytics and performance vehicle strategy.
- Previous experience in Motorsports.
- Familiarity with relational databases, especially SQL Server.
- Familiarity with .NET programming technology, especially C#.
- Familiarity with Cloud developing platforms, especially Microsoft Azure Cloud.
Start dates for this internship role are May & June of 2026.
