On-site This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Bay City on a full-time basis. The Role You will be focused on the successful Launch on the new product at Bay City. You will be required to collaborate with GM’s Execution Team, the Plant OPS Team and with OEM’s. Your work will be to ensure the development of manufacturing process are in place to enable a successful Launch. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required for the production of machining. Manage installation of various projects. Existing program/site support Troubleshooting, diagnosis of equipment malfunctions,etc. Support the TIP (Throughput Improvement process) Continuous Improvement initiatives. Ability to learn new skills, and coach / Mentor others on Mechanical related issues, using a hands on approach. Supports business team in Business Plan Deployment (BPD) process. Knowledge of manufacturing processes/procedures as well as quality control and environmental procedures is required. Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with all stakeholders (Execution Team, OEM’s, Maintenance, and Production) Ability to work with people at all levels of the organization in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and significantly complex projects and assignments with high level of autonomy and accountability for results. Strong work ethic (self-starter, responsible, follow through on assignments) Demonstrated initiative by reaching beyond work assigned to improve output and/or help others. Strong technical knowledge of CNC’s machines and the ability to apply these concepts within a manufacturing environment. Experience in reading CMM data and making Machine adjustments. Demonstrated understanding of mechanical concepts involving machine designs, process requirements involved in the manufacturing process. Ability to travel to Flint a few days per week while they are qualifying block or head equipment before equipment arrive in Bay City. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Process Engineering 3+ years’ relevant experience required Ability to solve complex problems Ability to work effectively with a cross-functional group; leading the group as needed Ability to multi-task on multiple critical issues at the same time Ability to work effectively under a high amount of stress Ability to work Overtime as required What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications): Reading CMM reports, PLC programs Qualifying Machines, PPAP/CPK quality standards 5+ years in Manufacturing as a Process Engineer Ability to work effectively will all levels of the organization
