Job Purpose:
The primary role is the operation of dynamometers to conduct powertrain durability and performance testing. The testing process includes the initial setup of powertrain products (Transmission, Rear Differential, Transfers), installing test equipment, managing data acquisition systems, performing periodic checks during the test, powertrain disassembly, and creating detailed report summarizing test results for the powertrain approval process.
Key Accountabilities:
Perform powertrain dynamometer testing guaranteeing test conditions & guidelines and understanding test purpose.
Manage data acquisition equipment to ensure accuracy of ECM data collected, interpret data to ensure proper function of the powertrain and test equipment.
Perform all data collection, product maintenance, and evaluations guaranteeing adherence to test guidelines.
Troubleshoot basic electrical and mechanical issues with test related equipment and powertrains and participate in the problem-solving activities.
Upon test completion, disassemble powertrain product and complete component analysis based on test viewpoint and perform preliminary assessment of Test data and components.
Support maintenance of test equipment to assure proper function.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Associate's degree in Engineering with 2 years of experience
Co-op experience preferred
Microsoft Office, Auto CAD, or Catia
Working Conditions:
Work environment is typically within a testing laboratory at dynamometer workstations
Workload requires approximately 5 hours of overtime/week with some scheduled weekend shift requirements
