Responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting robust and consistent environmental stewardship program strategies aligned with GM’s mission to deliver sustainable solutions that improve the communities in which we live and work.

Develop, implement, and maintain environmental strategies focused on air permits, emissions control, and regulatory compliance.

Lead risk assessments and mitigation plans for environmental liabilities, including hazardous materials, spills, and operational impacts.

Manage chemical inventories, regulatory reporting in alignment with SEMARNAT and internal protocols.

Support and coordinate environmental aspects of new projects, including impact evaluations and permit acquisition.

Ensure readiness and response for internal and external audits (ISO 14001, legal compliance, corporate standards).

Key engagement with plant management and employees, FAMs, regulatory agencies, internal and external community leaders, legal staff, GM and external audit services, utility service providers, and chemical/resource management business partners.
R equired Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s Degree: Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or relevant experience.
-Required experience in similar position: 3 years or more
- Languages: English B1 level (able to understand and address corporate requirements).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
-Knowledge on environmental regulations: NOM-043 SEMARNAT (particles from stationary sources), NOM-085 (air pollution).
-Experience managing environmental licenses and certifications, including Single Environmental License and Annual Operating Certificate.
