We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied Master thesis in the area of intelligent mobility. Our team explores innovative Human-AI interaction for in-vehicle personal assistants. We focus on leveraging large language models (LLMs) to create adaptive, multimodal user experiences and derive design guidelines for future mobility solutions.
What awaits you?
- You will support core development activities using Python, integrating LLM libraries and Pydantic.
- Furthermore, you help to contribute to the platform across multiple languages and frameworks, including Android (Kotlin), Azure Pub/Sub, and internal APIs.
- Moreover, you will assist in solving complex problems and devising innovative solutions to enhance LLM capabilities for our in-vehicle assistant.
- In addition, you contribute to planning and executing a user study with an LLM-based prototype.
- You will also support the design of adaptive in-car user interfaces, including wireframes and multimodal interaction flows.
Please note that your thesis must be supervised by a university on your part.
What should you bring along?
- Studies in computer science, media informatics or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Knowledge and experience with Azure or other cloud platforms, integrating with CI/CD tools like Git.
- Experience in developing LLMs and applying user-centered design methods, including user studies—ideally in voice-based interfaces.
- Basic skills in wireframing or prototyping tools such as Figma or ProtoPie are a plus.
- Ability to collaborate in a research and development team, contributing innovative ideas.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in German is a plus.
