We are seeking an experienced Customs and International Trade professional with strong expertise in customs operations and regulatory compliance. This role will serve as the subject matter expert for customs and trade compliance across Stellantis operations in Thailand, working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth and compliant cross-border trade.
Key Responsibilities
Customs & Operations Management
- Oversee daily import and export activities including verification of shipping documents (Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, etc.).
- Monitor and coordinate shipment status with customs brokers to ensure timely clearance.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders for customs duties and tax payments related to imports.
- Ensure prompt release of goods from customs to the warehouse and adherence to export timelines.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to logistics delays or trade disruptions, keeping relevant stakeholders informed.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of all cross-border transactions for audit readiness.
- Ensure proper application of Free Trade Agreement (FTA) benefits in export processes.
- Coordinate with Thai Customs authorities on tax exemptions, duty drawback, and incentive programs.
Trade Compliance
- Classify products accurately under the Harmonized System (HS Code) to determine applicable tariffs and compliance requirements.
- Validate product origin to meet trade agreement and rule of origin standards.
- Ensure accurate product valuation for duty assessment purposes.
- Manage license applications and renewals relevant to customs and trade operations.
- Possess solid knowledge of duty drawback mechanisms and trade incentive schemes.
- Stay informed on evolving customs and export control regulations; assess and communicate their impact on Stellantis operations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures for customs and trade activities.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 4 to 8 years of hands-on experience in customs operations and trade compliance.
- Strong knowledge of Thailand customs laws, procedures, and relevant international trade regulations.
- Proven expertise in import/export documentation and brokerage processes.
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, particularly with customs authorities and government bodies.
- Fluency in both Thai and English.
- Proficient in customs compliance platforms and tools.
