Work Arrangement :
Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to on a full-time basis.
Each successful candidate will be offered an onsite role at a specific location. Candidate location preferences are considered but cannot be guaranteed.

Your work could directly affect the safety standards of the plant. You would have the opportunity to implement and coordinate projects on a global scale with a hands-on approach.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide technical ergonomics support within the GM Global Workplace Safety organization.
- Assist with the completion of innovation and global strategic projects/initiatives to continuously improve ergonomics processes, analysis tools and advance GM technical knowledge in key areas.
- Learn to use and apply GM’s ergonomic assessments and digital human modeling (Process Simulate Human) and Virtual Reality tools to complete math based ergonomic analyses.
- This position requires the need to assimilate data from many sources and apply both practical and technical problem-solving techniques. Decisions are to be made within the limits of general practices, policies, and procedures.
- Support the Workplace Ergonomics team with the development and deployment of ergonomic initiatives, communication packages, and/or pilot activities.
- As required, support Ergonomic technical specialists completing proof of concept projects on new technology, processes, and/or risk analysis tools.
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Human Kinetics, Kinesiology, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with course work in ergonomics or related ergonomics degree
- Must be graduating between December 2026 and May 2029
- Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week
- Ability to travel

- Knowledge of ergonomic assessment tools (e.g. Revised NIOSH Lift Equation, Liberty Mutual Manual Materials Handling Equations etc.)
- Knowledge of Digital Human Modeling software (e.g. Process Simulate Human, 3D Static Strength Prediction Program, etc.)
- Project management skills and the proven ability to manage multiple projects

Compensation:
- GM will provide a one-time lump sum taxable stipend payment to eligible students selected for the 2025 Student Program.
