Hendrick Motorsports is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Technical Account Specialist to join our Motorsports division. You will act as the point of contact for our key customer accounts and provide tailored support for product sales and projects. This role blends technical expertise, business insights, and project management — ensuring solutions are delivered with precision, speed, and competitive insight.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
• Serve as primary point of contact for assigned partner accounts, ensuring their requests or concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.
• Intake partner requests and assess timeline, feasibility, capacity, and cost of the requirements.
• Understand business process routines and liaise cross-functionally with engineering, internal manufacturing, procurement, and accounting to coordinate requirements.
• Assess intellectual property (IP) implications and restrictions and strictly adhere to internal protocols.
• Operate with close understanding of internal cost structures and pricing policies and prepare preliminary cost assessment for internal review.
• Package technical and business information in concise presentation formats, tailored to internal and external audiences.
• Monitor order/project timelines and deliverables, ensuring adherence to service-level targets and timelines.
• Facilitate the review of project statements of work, contracts, and supply agreements.
• Develop or optimize customer order tracking and reporting.
• Prepare RFQs and RFPs packages for project requirements to evaluate options and suggest best selection.
• Process order requisitions to procure project requirements.
• Perform non-routine studies and data assessments related to partner account activity and metrics.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Supply Chain, or Engineering
• 3+ years of experience technical procurement or engineering
• Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes
• Familiarity with IP considerations in product development and sourcing
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and BOMs
• Proficient in Excel and spreadsheet development
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment
• Motorsport or performance engineering background a plus
• Experience working with competitive manufacturing teams
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering or a related field. 3+ years of experience technical procurement or engineering. Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software. Proficiency in excel and spreadsheet development.
Certificates and Licenses: Valid Driver’s License
Computer Skills:
Proficiency in D365 and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Preferred ERP Systems. Experience in implementing ERP systems, or serving on a team charged with continuous improvement of the ERP system.
Communication Skills:
Ability to understand and follow instructions. Must have an ability to communicate effectively with others and serve as a team player to both departmental and organization team members.
Attendance Expectations:
The position requires regular and predictable attendance. Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays. Ability to work a flexible schedule is required. Role is not remote and must regularly be performed in the assigned office location.
Physical Demands:
Frequently sits, manually manipulates and lifts/carries/pushes and pulls up to 10 pounds. Occasionally stands, walks, reaches outward and above shoulder level, bends and squats. Occasionally lifts/ carries/ pushes and pulls up to 50 pounds.
Environment Demands:
Primarily works indoors in an office environment. May occasionally perform work in the shop environment.
Verbal and Writing Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Strong mathematical skills required.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations.
