Main missions:
- Manage the teams and activities within the scope of responsibility, and ensure the delivery of the outputs assigned to the team.
- Ensure the updating, robustness, and development of standards within the scope of responsibility
Responsibilities:
- Lead the team by setting priorities to ensure that all expected results and deliverables are achieved.
- Ensure the quality and relevance of the team’s deliverables in alignment with project deadlines.
- Guide activities and/or processes to contribute to performance objectives assigned to the department along QCDP axes (including objectives for value optimization, mass reduction, or diversity).
- Supervise deliverables assigned to subcontractors: ensure robustness of input data provided, assess the quality of received deliverables, and oversee progress plans.
- Propose improvements in processes and interactions with subcontractors.
- Anticipate staffing needs (internal and external) in line with project deadlines and deliverables.
- Anticipate subcontracting needs and organizational evolutions.
- Manage workload and define internal or external resources required to support and execute programs. Oversee external resources to ensure deliverables (including coordination with managers of partner companies).
- When applicable to the team’s activities, be familiar with key suppliers related to the activity and develop an operational plan for the use of these resources/skills.
- Participate in problem-solving using structured methodologies (RdP, DFSS) and keep best practices up to date, leveraging lessons learned (from other regions and the global team).
- Define and manage standards within the team, ensuring their application across all projects (local or global).
- Use competitive analysis activities in collaboration with the Global Technical Team, where relevant to the team’s scope.
- Ensure the development of standards in collaboration with methods or expertise teams, and contribute through the team’s activities.
- Supervise and guide the internal team, ensuring that members have the required skills to deliver all outputs (training, mentoring, etc.).
- Manage individual evaluations for all team members: annual performance reviews, regular one-to-one meetings, and skills assessments.
- Implement and lead safety initiatives consistent with team activities, including shop floor safety walks.
Qualifications:
- Engineering degree with over 10 years of experience in automotive engineering.
- Proven experience in project management and supplier management.
- Proficiency with Project Management tools (PLM).
- Strong knowledge of mechanics, electronics, and functional safety.
- Excellent communication skills: ability to articulate clearly, listen actively, and adapt communication to the audience.
- Leadership and team motivation: ability to unite, inspire, and develop team members’ potential.
- Project management and organizational skills: ability to plan, coordinate, and rigorously follow up on objectives.
- Decision-making and problem-solving: ability to analyze situations quickly, anticipate risks, and propose effective solutions.
- Adaptability and crisis management: ability to remain flexible, manage priorities, and find solutions under pressure.
- English: ability to lead meetings in English with an international audience.
