Responsibilities
- Responsibility for Plant 9 Production Monitoring & Control, as well as the achievement of plant Time-Quality-Targets.
- Manage physical Plant Production Control.
- As Section leader leading the team within the TX-R-10 department.
- Ensure that plant volume targets are attained by providing a sustainable production plan and catch-up scenarios where necessary.
- Ensure that the production plan is in accordance to both Plant 9 as well as supplier constraints and any deviation from the norm are timeously communicated to assembly management as well as the suppliers affected.
- Responsible for Time Quality Targets, from a production control perspective, i.r.t. sequence adherence at assembly start; on-time delivery; throughput time.
- Management of cumulative orders out of sequence at the Painted Body facility, and the subsequent co-ordination of the emergency concept within Plant 9 and with the inclusion of first tier suppliers.
- Joining the T-Production meeting and attendance of ad hoc meetings within different Technologies when production control input is required.
- Chairing of Time Quality steering meetings within different Technologies and the HAT meeting.
- Management of plant system fills across all Technologies in order maintain the required production conditions.
- Measure, analyse, evaluate, report and make recommendations to ensure Production Process Targets are adhered to by Technologies.
- Late order management – late order expediting throughout complete in-plant vehicle process chain.
- Control of PZ adherence during 2 x run-out and run-in annually, as well as year-end shutdown volume planning.
- Steering of various projects related to run-in / run-out models and time quality related topics.
- Creating monthly, quarterly and add hock reports for the ZA and AG Board of Directors.
- Taking the lead in the department in regards to VPS and if required in the TX-R-1 department.
- Overall CBS (Combined Body Store) management, facilities and personnel.
- Official stand-in for TX-R-10, after 1 year employment.

- Initiating improvements to software and systems in order to optimize system efficiency.
- Delegate continuous improvement discussions between shift leader and maintenance team in order to increase equipment availability.
- Development and expediting of emergency concept to handle major disturbances to production planning i.e. order blocks and breakdowns.
- TS-R-1 representative on decision-making team, with production management, i.t.o. order blocks vs. part cripple.
- Evaluate all part block requests and forecast the effect to cumulative order backlog and duration.
- Responsible for the operational control of vehicle flow throughout the plant.
- Control of all orders / units in-plant. ( Production in-process, Scrap, Damages etc. ), in order to minimize late units.
- Supervise and control events resulting from the T-Production meeting, facilitate communication between various departments and ensure follow up on decisions made.
- Manage, update and control of PCS ‘Arbeitszeit’ and Management SIV parameters in accordance to volume requirement agreements.
- Negotiate and control Plant production balance and co-ordinate Customer / Supplier agreements with each Technology, including the practice of constraint management.
- Measurement and improvement of manufacturing sequence build per Technology and through-out the plant, by means of discussions / suggestions to Technologies.
- Responsible for creation and maintenance of a central data support to the overall plant production management and activities.
- Initiate and maintain all data collection and analytical statistics required to ensure effective measurement and analysis of overall plant progress and possible under achievement versus program and or agreed internal targets.
- Control of vehicle scrapping, blocking and releasing of units.
- Responsible for creation, compilation, accuracy and interpretation of Daily and weekly Production Status reports relating to Time Quality targets.
- Ensure coordination between technologies and facilitates the management decisions when certain sections or the complete plant should run additional hours in order to achieve required volume as agreed with AG.
- Prioritization and analysis of units in each Technology, (Based on urgency relating to destination / customer / late orders / firm orders technical considerations and special actions in plant) and coordination of vehicle flow throughout the relevant shops, with close consideration of the overall Plant 9 vehicle flow.
- Analysis of delayed / late units to planned F2, extraction and correcting of F2 dates in order for Dealer Network to advise promised delivery date to Customer Base.
- Continuous communication with BMW AG & Plant 10 Control Departments.
- All aspects of plant control analytical data collection systems, new / updated techniques and continuous know how exchange to keep abreast with international developments.
- Accountable for Data integrity, traceability, simulations, etc.
- Ensure information flow regarding JIT and JIS component re-call-off’s on re-jig units to Materials Planning in order to prevent possible short-supply resulting in on-cost.
- Ensure smooth expediting of launch plans with liaison to launch management and master production scheduler.
- Control of launch, run-out and shutdown plans on order by order basis with correct information flows to production and logistics support.
- Liaison between management and shop stewards for production stoppages/feedback requests, by union.

Education
- Graduate qualification in industrial engineering, or
- Production Management degree or equivalent.
- Software and programming skills advantageous.
Work experience, Leadership experience
- Minimum 8 years in the Automotive industry.
- Minimum 5 years logistic and production experience.
- Sound knowledge of logistic and production processes.
- Good communication skills.
- Effective negotiating skills.
