Role Overview: As a Chief Engineer, you will lead all technical aspects of Propulsion Systems projects to meet customer requirements and functional targets. You will manage Sub-System Projects through a Sub-System Table, making necessary optimizations and trade-offs to achieve QCTP (Quality, Cost, Timing, and Performance) targets. This role specifically focuses on ICE Diesel Serial life and development activities.
What You’ll Do:
- Technical Leadership: Lead technical aspects of Propulsion Systems projects to achieve customer requirements and functional targets.
- System Management: Manage Sub-System Projects through a Sub-System Table, optimizing and making trade-offs to meet QCTP targets.
- Decision Making: Identify requirements and collect cross-functional information to make sound technical decisions.
- Communication: Communicate key technical decisions and issues to executive management.
- Risk Management: Ensure technical risks and issues have clear paths to resolution.
- Cost Management: Ensure ER&D rollup is accurate and comprehensive, with core ER&D costs allocated correctly.
- Approval Authority: Approve powertrain descriptions and Sub-System Technical Specifications (SSTS) aligned with phases/builds and sourcing activities.
- Change Management: Chair technical change review meetings to establish balanced solutions within the program scope.
- Technical Reviews: Approve technical aspects of Deviations & change notice, including Function Model/DVPR/DFMEA, and sponsor them through the change review process.
- Validation: Confirm component and system designs and verification/validation testing are completed efficiently to reduce lead time and development costs.
- Innovation: Encourage and promote possible patents as a result of product innovation.
- Roadmap Ownership: Own the technical roadmap for your area of responsibility.
Support Responsibilities:
- Development Support: Support development timing, readiness, and costs under the Family Management and Cost Management lead.
- Specification Development: Assist in the development of Sub-System Technical Specifications (SSTS).
What You’ll Bring:
Have at least 10 years of experience as Mechanical or Electrical or Calibration engineer working in the automotive industry.

Technical Skills :
- CATIA V5: Proficiency in using CATIA V5 for 3D modeling and design.
- PLM (Product Lifecycle Management): Experience with PLM systems to manage product data and lifecycle processes.
- Microsoft Software: Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and presentations.
- Project Management Tools: Familiarity with project management tools such as MS Project or similar.
- Mechanical & Electrical Hardware Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical hardware components in ICE systems.
- Calibration and Software in ICE: Expertise in calibration and software development for Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) systems is highly appreciated.
