Who You Are
5+ years of experience in automotive wiring harness design, assembly, or electrical systems.
Proficiency in reading automotive wiring schematics and technical drawings.
Hands-on experience with crimping tools, soldering irons, and diagnostic equipment.
Familiarity with automotive electrical systems, including CAN bus, LIN bus. Knowledge of high-voltage EV systems is preferred, but not required.
Experience with CAD software (Siemens, Fusion, SolidWorks).
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or certification in electrical engineering, automotive technology, or related field preferred.
What You’ll Do
Develop wiring harness designs based on vehicle specifications and requirements.
Use CAD software and automotive design tools to create wiring diagrams and models.
Select appropriate components, including connectors, terminals, grommets, and wires, suitable for automotive environments.
Assemble and route wiring harnesses for automotive applications, ensuring proper integration into vehicle systems.
Perform tasks such as wire cutting, stripping, crimping, and soldering with precision.
Install wiring harnesses in prototype and production vehicles, ensuring secure and correct placement.
Conduct rigorous testing of wiring harnesses, including continuity, resistance, and load tests, using specialized equipment.
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical issues in harness assemblies.
Ensure compliance with automotive standards such as SAE, ISO, and OEM-specific requirements.
Work closely with automotive engineers, project managers, and quality assurance teams to align designs with project goals.
Document wiring harness designs, changes, and test results for future reference and compliance audits.
Provide feedback on design improvements for better functionality and ease of installation.
Ensure harnesses meet durability standards for heat, vibration, and environmental resistance in automotive settings.
Adhere to safety protocols during assembly and installation.
Conduct root cause analysis for harness failures and implement corrective actions.
Maintain and calibrate tools and equipment used for harness assembly.
Suggest innovative wiring solutions to improve vehicle performance and efficiency.
