We have a new vacancy, within the Production Control Group, for a Jig Room Production Controller.
The role will manage the Workflow, Planning, and Part administration of the Jig Department.
Raising orders efficiently and effectively, ensuring all parts carry an authentic build structure, bill of material properties and visibility. Providing a clear, unambiguous and achievable routing for each required part and assembly. Working closely with Production Controllers and the Jig Management Team Leader to ensure the departments workload is planned for the following day/shift.
Role Responsibilities
- To administrate and manage Jig purchasing and workflow, engineering job resource (routings) with authentic operational timings, relevant to drawing revision.
- To monitor and maintain the future load of the Jig Build area, ensuring the data is true and using as a basis to provide assistance with make vs buy decision, where necessary
- To offer group administration ownership of the works order process, from creation through closure. Noting the bill of materials content, shortage and event requirement satisfaction, managing component tracking attributes.
- Ownership of works order process (new/rework), managing challenging delivery schedules, operation achievement and event availability
- Review current project status vs. planned. Ensuring that milestones are understood, and escalated when off-plan
- To liaise with the Manufacturing Groups/Production controllers when department capacity is reached to advise on potential rescheduling of projects, avoiding any delay to the implantation and acceptance of projects through the Composites area.
Reporting to the Production Control Team Manager, the successful applicant will be Epicor (or similar business system) fluent, used to working to challenging deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential. The successful applicant will need excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. The person will have the ability to work closely within an already established, tight-knit, team. Excellent communications skills are a must for this role.
