Cadillac Formula 1™ is excited to be on the grid for the 2026 FIA Formula One™ World Championship. Our new team is gearing up for rapid growth. To achieve our goals, we need to create and sustain a high-performance culture in every area. We have ambitious plans to build an outstanding operation that can compete at the highest level.
From exceptional Engineering and Design talent to a world-class race team, supported by specialists in off-track roles - we are assembling the expertise needed to drive this operation forward and compete at the highest level.
Being a part of this team, will accelerate your career. Take a closer look at the role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Analysis Engineer to join our world-class engineering team at our new Silverstone facility. You will play a key role in the development of high-performance racing car structures through detailed structural simulations, finite element analyses (FEA), and advanced optimisation techniques.
This role offers the opportunity to shape the structural integrity and performance of components and assemblies across the race car platform, contributing directly to on-track success. You’ll collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, mentor junior engineers, and bring your expertise to bear on a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
What you will be doing:
- Lead structural simulations and optimisations across critical car systems to ensure weight-efficient, robust, and high-performing designs.
- Perform advanced FEA (linear/nonlinear, static/dynamic, buckling, fatigue) using industry-leading software
- Conduct composite structure analyses, leveraging deep understanding of laminate theory, ply-level failure criteria, and manufacturing constraints.
- Collaborate closely with design groups to challenge concepts, refine load paths, and influence design evolution from concept through to track deployment.
- Define, scrutinise, and validate structural load cases, ensuring alignment with vehicle usage and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare high-quality documentation and present findings in technical reviews, ensuring clear communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Lead initiatives to improve analysis workflows, enhance modelling accuracy, and support the development of best practices within the Structure group.
- Mentor and supervise junior and graduate structural engineers, fostering technical growth and analytical rigour.
- Degree (BSc/MSc/PhD) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in structural analysis, ideally within Formula 1, WEC, aerospace, or high-performance motorsport.
- Expert in finite element and conventional hand calculation methods, with advanced proficiency in HyperWorks and/or Abaqus
- Strong experience with composite material analysis and optimisation techniques.
- Proficient in CAD-FEA integration, automation scripting (e.g., Python, TCL), and handling complex load case environments.
- Knowledge of, fatigue, and damage tolerance desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and proven ability to influence cross-functional design decisions.
- Strong organisational skills with a proactive, hands-on, and solution-oriented mindset.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, open, and collaborative team environment.
Please note that additional security checks may be required as part of the recruitment process. This may include a background check covering a minimum of the past five years and a criminal record check.
