About the Role
To manage the output and performance of the Milling and Turning production departments.
Day to Day
To liaise with production controllers and Team Leaders at the beginning and end of each shift regarding work priorities.
To liaise with the Manufacturing Engineers on any work-related problems at the start and end of each shift to give a smooth change over from one shift to the next
Hold start-up meetings with departmental Team Leaders to inform of priority jobs that need to run through their relative departments.
To resolve any production / technical problems or queries that may occur during the shift, minimising delay to production and ensuring quality is maintained.
Any problems or queries that cannot be dealt with are directed to the appropriate person at the earliest opportunity to minimise disruption to production schedules.
Request RFC’s and record re-works.
To always observe the Health and Safety rules.
To follow the company quality procedures.
To carry out any reasonable additional duties as requested by management.
To notify the relevant Departmental Team Leader of any absences that may occur.
Supervision of all departments personnel to include maintaining general discipline, ensuring company policy and codes of practice are adhered to, maintaining a safe and healthy working environment, and ensuring staff members productivity.
To communicate any staff problems with the relevant Dept. Head.
To deliver the company Team Briefing.
To deal with any emergencies that may occur, contacting the relevant service and maintain required records of such incidents and inform relevant Dept. Heads of such incidents.
Conduct interviews for internal positions and vacancies as required.
In conjunction with Team Leaders, conduct PDR’s of Team Leaders and other employees.
About You
Educated to degree level in a Science or Engineering based discipline.
Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Understanding of Engineering Drawings.
Understanding of manufacturing principles.
Understanding of transmission components and Manufacturing systems.
Experience of working in a production environment.
Commercial awareness.
Planning, influencing and project management skills.
Multifunctional team leadership skills.
Action orientated.
Analytical skills to convert business objectives into achievable tasks.
Strong communication skills.
High levels of integrity, confidence, independence and collaboration.
