Red Bull Powertrains has an exciting opportunity to join our technical office as we transition from building our team’s first Power Units to refining them into a race-ready package, all aimed at delivering the most competitive car on the 2026 Formula One grid. We are seeking a Mechanical Design and Development Engineer to join our Mechanical Development team and drive the future of motorsport innovation. You will be based at our cutting-edge engineering and manufacturing facility in Milton Keynes, designed to produce high-performance Power Units for the 2026 engine regulations.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for delivering the maximum performance potential to the podium, collaborating closely with all teams within Red Bull Powertrains. To succeed, you must develop and implement Mechanical Design for power unit (PU) Instrumentation, rig and dyno projects, ensuring the performance and reliability of PU components and sub-systems from concept to podium with unwavering determination.

- Demonstrated experience in complex decision-making and strategic thinking, even when faced with imperfect data and tight timelines
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong cross-departmental relationships
Key Competencies:
- Proficiency in Mechanical Design using one of the major CAD software packages
- Expertise in technical drawing with GD&T for complex machined parts, with a proven track record in design for manufacture and assembly
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Physics, or an equivalent qualification
- High level of competence in both technical and practical applications of Mechanical Engineering, including mechanical, fluid, and thermal analysis of components
- Practical experience in conducting measurements for development rig or dyno testing of mechanical components, sub-assemblies, or power units
- Knowledge of stress analysis for static and dynamic components, as well as MBD analysis of components
