We have a vacancy for a Simulation Performance Engineer to optimise and develop car performance at our Technology Campus in Milton Keynes.
This is an exciting role for a motivated and enthusiastic engineer who will optimise car performance by producing and reporting high quality and accurate simulation results utilising the RBT-developed suite of simulation tools. We have roles to suit both new graduates and engineers with significant industrial experience.
What you’ll be doing as a Simulation Performance Engineer:
- Generating optimal design, development and setup targets to maximise car performance across current race events, through in-season development and for future cars.
- Developing and improving the simulation tools, models and analysis methods which underpin our car performance optimisation.
- Preparing, running and communicating accurate pre-event setup optimisation summaries prior to each event.
- Providing setup optimisation recommendations during race and test events.
- Ensuring all simulation output and reporting is consistent and coherent.
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
- Education to at least degree level within Mechanical Engineering, Automotive or Aeronautical Engineering, Physics or other relevant engineering discipline.
- Simulation expertise in at least one of the following areas: Whole-vehicle, Tyre, Suspension, Power Unit, or Aerodynamics. Experience within an F1 or high-level motorsport environment is a distinct advantage.
- A high level of proficiency in the use of Python and Matlab to model engineering problems and analyse data.
- A proven ability to find solutions to difficult problems and deliver results in a high-pressure working environment.
- Flexibility and confidence working at our factory base or at the track, during race or test events.
