Nashville Superspeedway, an elite venue within the Speedway Motorsports portfolio, is seeking current college students who are looking to gain internship experience working in event operations within the sports and entertainment industry. Will report directly to Director of Operations and work closely with Event Operations Coordinator and Operations staff.
Responsibilities:
- Data entry, filing, spreadsheet management
- Attend meetings with the Operations Department
- Conduct independent research on vendors, best practices, etc. as directed
- Responsible for acquiring quotes and collecting data for potential projects
- Track and manage certificates of insurances from vendors
- Assist in creating event materials, ex. maps for event information/access to facility
- Enter expenses in budget spreadsheet
- Work with maintenance staff to create inventory of items in storage and maintenance logs
- Assist with securing event accommodations, hotels, rental vehicles, etc.
- Assist with sourcing, securing and scheduling of volunteer and event time workers
- Communicates with other athletic department units and assist with job tasks when able
- Other duties as assigned

- Guest services/customer services skills, with willingness to hel
- Ability to multi-task, stay organized, keep up with high-energy, fast paced environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Enjoys working in fast paced and team-oriented structure with emphasis on customer service
- Organizational skills, with attention to detail
- High level of professionalism and dependability, represent NSS in a professional manner at all times
Education:
- Students pursuing a Bachelors or Master’s degree in Events Management, Sports Management, Business Administration or related field
Physical:
- Working in the office is very much a part of this role, but also being outside in the elements will be a large percentage of the role
- Ability to lift boxes up to 50 pounds
Interns will have the ability to play an integral, hands-on role in the growth and enhancement of the Nashville Superspeedway brand in preparation for its annual NASCAR Cup, Xfinity and Truck Series races every June and throughout the year.
