We are recruiting for a 3D Graphics Designer who would be based at our Media and Technology Centre in Biggin Hill. Do you have what it takes to be part of the world’s greatest sport and entertainment spectacle?
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Designing new concepts and looking at how we can improve existing graphics.
Designing, building, and testing new graphics to make them ready for use in the Formula One broadcast.
Researching new ideas and keeping abreast of new technologies which can influence and improve our product.
Staying up to date with developments within the sports broadcasting industry.
Researching how graphics are used in other industries and how these use cases could improve our product.
Working with the graphics team to discuss and develop new graphical concepts and ideas.
Determining requirements for new graphics and working with our team to help ensure graphics requirements are thorough and correct.
Working with the graphics team to improve workflows, as well as improve graphics content used in the broadcast
Understanding the requirements involved in creating graphics for use within a broadcast environment.
Preparing graphics for upcoming events as well as fixing any immediate bugs or errors required for the next event.
Help facilitate graphics projects which could include setting up and operating graphics system or building graphics to support any broadcast graphics project.
Troubleshooting technical issues which occur during events and liaising with relevant individuals, teams and departments to quickly resolve problems.
Understanding the sport of Formula One and its associated support events and becoming knowledgeable about how the sport works.
Working with the production team and directors/producers and attending production meetings to understand current stories in the sport and plans for the broadcast.
Qualifications
A degree in 3D design, motion graphics, or related field.
Experience
Experience of working in live broadcast design team. Specialising in 3D, Virtual, and AR graphics.
Knowledge & Skills
A thorough understanding of 3D modelling programs, Cinema 4D, Autodesk Maya, or other modelling platforms .
3D animation and motion design experience.
A clear understanding of the 3D animation pipeline including modelling, texturing, lighting, rigging, animation & rendering.
Knowledge of Unreal render engine particularly in a broadcast setting.
Prior experience working in a VR/Virtual/AR Studio pipeline using Unreal, Pixotope, VizRT or similar.
Knowledge of AR, VR and Virtual Sets and virtual/AR graphics workflows.
Experience designing 3D broadcast content and live real-time graphics.
Experience designing and animating 2D on-screen graphics for both realtime and post-production purposes.
A keen understanding of visual design and an interest in researching new ideas and concepts.
A realistic approach to design ideas, particularly under tight deadlines.
Extensive knowledge of the Adobe suite with emphasis on Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects.
Understand the testing and troubleshooting process.
Great understanding of the project process and workflow optimisation, team organisation and communication.
