We have a new opportunity to be part of the Wind Tunnel Operations team in the role of PIV Engineer.
You will play a key role in the operation and development of the PIV system in our state-of-the-art wind tunnel.
Working within a small team of engineers, you will be responsible for:
The day-to-day operation and support for the wind tunnel PIV system.
Continual Development of the PIV system to achieve the goals set out by the wider Aerodynamic department.
Maintenance of our PIV system hardware and software to ensure system stability and robustness.
Key requirements:
Strong academic background with an appropriate engineering degree, ideally at master’s or PhD level.
Previous experience of wind tunnel testing in a Formula One / high level Motorsport environment is preferred.
Proven experience of PIV system operation and development.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Calm and considered approach to problem solving.
Self-motivation, enthusiasm, flexibility, and a strong commitment to the project.
Ability to establish excellent working relationships with colleagues.
Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to Health & Safety.
To have a flexible attitude and ability to work as part of a team in a demanding and rapidly changing environment.
Be results orientated and be confident in your decision-making skills.
Be enthusiastic and versatile and be able to build, develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues.
The ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate experience of wind tunnel testing and PIV systems development. They will exhibit a deep understanding of wind tunnel testing methodology and best practices, ideally within the motorsport industry, and have a calm and considered approach to systems development and problem solving in pressurised environments.
The role demands a flexible approach to working hours including weekend working.
