To develop and maximise the contribution of the Driver-in-Loop (DiL) Simulator engineering programme to the performance of the cars and drivers at the race track.
To develop and manage the DiL simulator and systems related to the DiL facility and DiL operations.
To contribute to the development of simulator specific models and features, (such as motion cueing, steering, visuals, driver etc.)
As our DiL Simulator Development Engineer, you'll be critical to the development and operations of our Driver-in-the-Loop simulator. Supporting the engineering programme in the DiL with preparation and execution of test items covering car setup, correlation to track data, vehicle dynamics, tyre & aero development, and when possible, provide appropriate analysis, feedback and reporting on the outcomes of testing.
Identify key developments and resources required to deliver and improve the programme and quality of the simulator environment.
Liaise with internal departments (Design, Car Assembly, Race Engineering, Systems and IT) and external suppliers to support all tasks relating to maintenance, debugging, development and general upkeep of the DIL facility
About You:
Experience in the use of simulation and data analysis tools, e.g. Atlas, Simulink
Experience developing ‘DiL-specific’ models using Simulink, Modelica, dSPACE, C#/C++
Previous experience of Python is advantageous
Experience in developing Embedded Real-Time systems, Systems Software Development, Vehicle Dynamics and/or DiL Simulator Hardware would be highly advantageous
