Purpose of the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our McLaren Performance Hub (MPH) team. As a GP at McLaren Racing, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being and performance of our employees. You will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) alongside physiotherapists, mental health practitioners, occupational health nurses, and exercise rehabilitation instructors.
The aim of our new MPH is to drive performance by elevating the health and wellbeing of the entire McLaren Racing Team. We are designing and equipping a best-in-class facility which includes an on-site medical centre and gym to support our quest in becoming a World Championship winning team.
This is a part-time and flexible position requiring 6 sessions (P.A) per week, on-site at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking.
Role Dimensions:
Reporting directly into the Medical Director, the General Practitioner will be responsible for providing healthcare services tailored to the needs of McLaren Racing employees. This position is UK based and not a travelling role.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Perform clinical consultations for employees: face-to-face, via telephone and on tele-medicine platforms.
- Assess, diagnose and manage a primary care clinical case load in an occupational environment.
- Provide comprehensive primary care services to all McLaren Racing employees, ensuring the highest standard of clinical care.
- Maintaining accurate medical records for all employees using electronic patient records.
- Promote and adhere to the principles of clinical governance.
- Uphold the highest standards of medical confidentiality at all times.
- Work seamlessly with other healthcare professionals to deliver holistic care and optimise employee health and performance.
- Promote a culture of health and well-being within McLaren Racing offering preventative care advice and guidance.
- Prescribing appropriate medications and treatments based on patient needs and medical history.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent).
- Listed on GMC Specialist Register for primary care.
- Be up to date with annual appraisal process and revalidation cycle.
- Qualified GP with experience in primary care.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working within an MDT.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills written, verbal and particularly listening.
- A clear understanding of professional responsibility and accountability.
- You should have experience of clinical leadership and service development based on dynamic needs assessments.
- Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check.
Desirable:
- Experience and a qualification in delivering women's health (e.g. DRCOG)
- Experience in corporate healthcare and occupational medicine (e.g. Dip Occ Med)

McLaren Racing is based at the iconic McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) near Woking.
