Purpose of the Role:
The Senior Design Engineer, Damper/Hydraulics role is responsible for the design and manufacturing of dampers, inerters, and suspension components. You will work with the Head of, Design and R&D and Director, Vehicle Dynamics to take suspension performance targets from the concept stage to mechanical design, prototype evaluation, and production.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Design work focused on dampers, inerters, hydraulics, and suspension devices
- Validation of component operational characteristics and targets
- Collaboration with Director, Vehicle Dynamics on performance deliverables
- Strength and fatigue analysis, including FEA and physical testing
- Limited travel to some races and test events
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years experience in a motorsports or related field
- CAD Design experience, Solidworks preferred
- Drawing/Drafting and GD&T experience
- Excellent communication skills
Preferred Experience:
- Proven design proficiency with dampers, inerters, and suspension components
- Background with hydraulic analysis
