About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Press Officer to join our Communications group. This is an ideal position for an inquisitive individual to establish themselves within the operational area of a world leading motorsport team.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record working within a similar role in a fast-paced environment for a high-profile organisation ideally in sports and looking for that next step. They will have excellent spoken and written English and additional languages would be a benefit. Tenacious, with an eye for detail, the candidate will be a strong team player with excellent administrative and organisation skills.
Your responsibilities will include:
Working closely with the media relations team within the Communications department to support the team’s external media strategy.
Supporting day-to-day activity across the communications team and ensuring an efficient press office function.
Being a point of contact for press office enquiries and daily management of incoming media enquiries.
Chaperoning journalists, TV crews and photographers where required trackside, at events and at the factory.
Management and briefing of key team spokespeople both trackside, at events and at the factory.
Organising and managing the schedule of regular communications meetings.
Writing of press releases, maintaining press kits, media reporting and research gathering for PR activity and events.
Supporting with the management of all communications assets including media outreach and gifting.
Assisting with the administration of the media relations team including budget tracking and raising of purchase orders.
Some travel and event attendance will be required in line with the role.
Candidate Profile:
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Degree educated would be advantageous but is not a pre-requisite.
A flexible, self-motivating approach.
Strong work ethic.
An individual who is capable of fitting into and working as part of a team.
Experience of working in a similar fast paced environment would also be advantageous.
Excellent logistical and organisation skills.
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Flexibility in hours and approach is required, along with the ability to work under minimum supervision with a "can do" team attitude. The role will involve a mix of hybrid and on-site work, with travel to meetings and events as required.
