Aerodynamic performance is the largest differentiator in Formula 1. Senior Aerodynamicists are the backbone of the department and our future leaders, leveraging their blend of experience and capability, working together or leading small teams to deliver the aerodynamic objectives of their respective groups.
You will help improve the aerodynamic performance our current and future race cars by:

Working effectively as part of a team
-
Leading small groups of aerodynamicists to achieve car-area level aerodynamic objectives
-
Analysing and understanding the results of wind tunnel (WT) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tests
-
Efficiently creating and iterating new geometric solutions to aerodynamic problems using computer aided design (CAD)
-
Working across the design groups to ensure the aerodynamic intent is realised
-
In conjunction with the Principal Aerodynamicist, oversee WT sessions to ensure they run smoothly and achieve their targets
-
Improving the aerodynamic development methodology and processes
-
Developing, training, and empowering the junior members of the team
Requirements
To be successful, you will need:
-
An excellent engineering degree with a specialisation in aerodynamics or equivalent
-
A thorough understanding of aerodynamics and the ability to apply that knowledge
-
A strong work ethic and the ability to remain calm under pressure
-
Several years of recent experience at the forefront of Formula 1 aerodynamic development

To demonstrate and develop your technical leadership

To mentor and develop less experienced aerodynamicists
-
A keen eye for detail and a high standard of quality

To be a strong and engaged team player, able to operate independently and exercise sound judgement as part of an overall plan at times, and with regular interactions with your teammates at others
