The linchpin in the qualification process
As a Junior Qualification Engineer you ensure that our materials and processes are tested and qualified correctly. You are the link between R&D and production and work together with colleagues, external test labs and customers to ensure a smooth qualification process. You will be intensively supervised by two experienced colleagues who will support you in every step of the process.
An important aspect of your work is to ensure that there is sufficient representative test material available. This means thinking ahead: what tests are needed, how do we ensure that the samples reflect all possible variations in production, and how do we anticipate future qualifications? By taking all these factors into account in the test program, we guarantee a stable supply chain, an essential aspect in aviation, where a material often remains in use for decades. Changes at a later stage cost a lot of time and money, because it has to be proven again that everything still meets the strict requirements of us and the customer.
In addition to coordinating tests, you are also involved hands-on. You support the production of test panels and samples and, where possible, perform tests yourself for which we are internally qualified. In addition, you help collect and analyze test data and contribute to improving our test and qualification processes.
What you actually do:
Prepare and coordinate test programs, including the production of representative test material;
Supporting the production of test panels and performing internal tests;
Coordinate with external test labs and ensure a smooth testing process;
Analyze and interpret test results to correlate with production characteristics;
Anticipate future qualifications and ensure that the necessary materials are available in a timely manner;
Proactively identify problems and think about process improvements;
Collaborate with experienced colleagues and slowly take on more and more responsibility in the process.
