POSITION SUMMARY:
The Website Content Specialist will be responsible for making content updates across 5 different websites (IMS.com, DetroitGP.com, MusicCityGp.com, GpArlington.com, IndycarAtIowa.com). Website updates need to be accurate, timely, and reinforce brand objectives. The candidate will gain exposure to SEO, ADA compliance, UX, copywriting, and Google Analytics. Prior experience in any of these areas is preferred. All candidates should be organized and have good attention to detail. Updates will mostly be made using a website content management system. All candidates need basic HTML and website styling experience along with basic photo editing skills (crop, resize, etc.)
Great candidates will be very organized great communicators, with a UX and marketing mindset. The role will work closely with ticket operations, event operations, marketing, and public relations to receive, recommend, and implement website content updates. Having an interest in sports, live events, or motorsports will certainly add to job satisfaction, but is not required. The Business Solutions team supports and develops many high-profile websites and critical internal applications. This exciting position includes working alongside virtually all departments in our company, fulfilling a wide variety of business needs, and number of different projects.
The candidate will be responsible for continual self-training and learning new trends that apply to the digital marketing and website management ecosystem. A genuine interest in website technology, digital marketing, and UX along with a desire to continually learn more is required.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Use Sitecore or similar CMS to make website updates
- Upload and edit images and PDFs needed for the website
- Take direction and input from multiple stake holders to keep the website updated
- Learn Google Analytics, SEO, and best practices for UX
- Participate in recurring stand-up meetings and retrospectives
- Provide estimates on work items, and manage/track your own work within a sprint
- Some weekends and after-hours are required during major IMS/INDYCAR events, especially during the month of May
- Communicate when unknowns become a risk to project timelines and need to be addressed
- Collaborate with internal and external customers, including the Ticketing, Marketing, Credentials, Premium Services, Guest Experience, and Event Management Departments as needed regarding project deliverables – often via demos, sprint reviews, and documentation
- Make recommendations and communicate trade-offs and risks
- Stay up to date with new industry trends and share knowledge with others
- Write and maintain documentation as needed
- Occasionally build emails in Adobe Marketo to support email marketing team.
- Other responsibilities as assigned to support live event

Education
- Bachelor's degree or candidate can be working towards a college degree

- Prior professional experience
- Excellent communication skills, organization skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to adjust and set priorities to meet deadlines

- Basic HTML and website styling experience
- Basic photo editing skills (crop, resize, etc.)
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external customers
- Ability to write and speak Spanish preferred not required

- Google Analytics, Sitecore, Wordpress, Photoshop, Figma, Adode XD, Adobe Marketo, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google Ad Manager, Google Search Console, Translation services
Travel/Work Hour/Flexibility
- General office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm
- 20 hours a week is expected but more hours can be available if candidate’s schedule allows
- Longer hours and weekends required for the Month of May and other major racing events
