Position Summary:
The Marketing Director plays a strategic and hands-on role in driving the team’s marketing efforts. This position is responsible for partnership management, CRM database and media metrics oversight, content creation, crisis management, and brand strategy execution. The ideal candidate will blend strong relationship management skills with strategic thinking and analytical expertise to enhance the team’s commercial performance and brand visibility.
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
1) Partnership Management & Team Marketing
Develops and implements integrated marketing campaigns to promote the team, drivers, and sponsors across digital marketing, social media, content creation, public relations, and fan engagement initiatives.
Cultivates and manages strategic partnerships that align with the team’s brand objectives, maximizing commercial value.
Serves as the primary liaison for sponsors, ensuring clear communication, expectation management, and alignment with strategic activation plans.
Maximizes sponsor visibility and return on investment (ROI) through activation across on-track branding, digital channels, hospitality events, and promotional initiatives.
Oversees the execution of sponsorship agreements, ensuring sponsors receive contracted benefits such as branding, digital exposure, merchandise integration, and VIP experiences.
Supports sponsorship negotiations, renewals, and upselling opportunities while ensuring contracts are legally sound and mutually beneficial.
Stays informed about industry trends, competitor sponsorships, and emerging marketing opportunities to enhance the team’s market position.
2) Content Creation
Leads the content strategy to align with overall marketing objectives, ensuring consistency in brand messaging across all platforms.
Creates and curates compelling content, including team news, driver insights, behind-thescenes stories, and sponsor highlights, to enhance engagement.
Expands the team’s network by connecting with key industry stakeholders, potential partners, and media representatives to increase visibility and business opportunities.
3) Branding
Maintains and enforces the team’s brand identity, ensuring consistency in logos, colors, typography, and messaging across all materials and platforms.
Oversees the creation of marketing collateral, including promotional videos, merchandise, brochures, and signage, ensuring effective sponsor integration while upholding brand integrity.
Ensures adherence to brand guidelines in all communications, merchandise, digital assets, and sponsor activations.
4) Budget Management
Manages the annual marketing budget, aligning financial plans with organizational objectives.
Oversees sponsor activation and hospitality budgets, optimizing resource allocation to maximize impact while maintaining financial discipline.
Monitors expenditures, identifies cost-saving opportunities, and analyzes variances between actual and budgeted amounts.
5) Additional Responsibilities
Manages the team’s Crisis Management Plan, ensuring preparedness for unexpected situations.
Supports additional marketing and business initiatives as directed by the Team Principal or designee.
Travels to all race events and tests as required.
Requirements:
2+ years of marketing experience, preferably in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Strong communicator with exceptional relationship-building skills.
Highly organized with keen attention to detail.
Innovative and collaborative mindset.
Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
Physical Requirements and Body Mechanics
As part of our Indy racing team, this role involves physically demanding tasks that require strength, coordination, and safe body mechanics. Candidates must be able to:
Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds frequently and occasionally heavier loads, utilizing proper lifting techniques to prevent strain or injury.
Demonstrate the ability to perform repetitive motions including bending, kneeling, and twisting, especially in tight or confined spaces, while maintaining proper posture and body mechanics.
Safely handle tools, equipment, and racing components, ensuring ergonomic handling to minimize risks of musculoskeletal injuries.
Be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment, often in varying weather conditions, while adhering to safety protocols related to body positioning and movement.
Proper body mechanics are critical to maintaining the safety and performance of our team. Training in safe lifting techniques and ergonomic practices will be provided to support team members’ well-being.
