Hendrick Motorsports, a leading NASCAR Motorsports operation, is currently seeking a highly motivated Transportation Driver. Under the general direction of the transportation coordinator, this position has primary responsibility for testing, switchouts, equipment upkeep, and filling in at the racetrack as needed. The candidate should have extensive knowledge of following appropriate safety procedures for transporting equipment and knowledge of related laws and regulations related to operating commercial vehicles. The ideal candidate would have experience in checking to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment are working properly prior to departure, securing cargo for transport, and reading and interpreting maps to determine appropriate routes. The position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication, flexible work schedule, and the ability to travel extensively. The candidate will be responsible for cleaning, organizing, stocking and loading the hauler, safely transporting race cars to events and tests, and collaborating with other drivers and team members to ensure that the race car arrives safely and in a timely manner.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Mechanical ability to repair trucks/trailers at the shop within reason
- Flexibility to travel at anytime with/without notice
- Transport trucks and/or trailers to repair facilities as needed
- Maintaining all company vehicles and equipment appearance
- Maintain cleanliness of transportations designated area at the shop
- Ability to substitute in as a driver for any of the teams at anytime
- Maintain cleanliness of the test hauler, including vacuuming, wiping off counters, and organizing tools and other items.
- Setup toolboxes, garage, observation deck, trailer for testing events
- Break down toolboxes and related items and load the hauler following a race/test in preparation for departure.
- Drives the company vehicle transporting company property safely to events and tests across the country.
- Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
- Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods.
- Safely secure cargo for transport.
- Provides support to teams at the track as needed.
- Maintain driver logs of working hours, as well as perform and document pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Manage transporter in emergency situations, including but not limited to flat tires, mechanical failures, etc.
- Report accidents, traffic violations, or damage to vehicles to supervisor as soon as possible.
- Collaborate with other drivers as part of a driving team on some trips.
- Manage petty cash and bank receipts related to work travel.
- Responsible for ensuring transporter falls within DOT standards for service and compliance.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
Experience: 4 plus years of experience
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills
Certifications & Licenses: Commercial Driver’s License; Current DOT Health Certification
Other Requirements: Responsible for complying with all laws and regulations relating to operating commercial vehicles, Responsible for maintaining up to date Class A Commercial Driver’s License with Air Brake Endorsement; Ability to travel extensively; Ability to work a flexible schedule; Ability to work on short notice.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Vision (near, distance, depth), sense of touch, and ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – safety glasses, hearing protection. Frequently stands, walks, manually manipulates, reaches outward, lifts/carries up to 50 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 25 pounds. Occasionally reaches above shoulder, climbs, crawls, squats or kneels, bends, lifts/carries over 100 pounds, and pushes/pulls over 100 pounds.
