Formula 1 are currently recruiting a Health and Safety Advisor (Production) in an exciting role within an ever-expanding department. Reporting to the H&S Lead, GP&EO the Health and Safety Advisor role will support the planning and delivery of Formula 1 Broadcast Operations across the race calendar, ensuring that we continue to safely deliver a world class live feed across the globe.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Working closely with Production, Technical and Operations Departments to support the safe delivery of Formula One activities at Formula One World Championship Events and non-track productions.
Support the Formula 1 Broadcast and Logistics departments on the build, event and derig phases of Formula 1 World Championship events.
Function as the key point of contact for Formula 1 broadcast and technical teams for H&S issues and development of Health and Safety plans and risk assessments and other key compliance documentation across the season.
Update the business on H&S issues at each circuit and ensure detailed race reports are completed onsite.
Participate and lead production safety meetings, when required, to report on relevant H&S matters.
Support the H&S Lead on the implementation of health and safety improvement projects.
Ensure that all accidents and incidents are documented correctly, investigated promptly, and reported accurately in line with the relevant procedure.
Support the H&S team – Grand Prix and Event Operations on H&S continual improvement projects and compliance across the race delivery function.
Provide constructive and pragmatic advice to Formula 1 technical and production departments.
Complete relevant H&S checks and inspections related to the delivery of the race or event.
Conduct circuit inductions to staff and contractors.
Manage first aid situations and refer for suitable medical treatment, where required.
Work closely with the H&S Lead and wider H&S team on new H&S projects and development of the safety function across F1 events.
Design, undertake and monitor H&S-related checks, inspections and audits.
About You
Diploma level qualification in H&S Management.
Emergency First Aid at work.
Minimum of two years’ experience in a production-based/ live broadcast Health and Safety role.
Experience operating in fast-paced and time crucial environments.
Practical and direct approach to H&S.
Ability to think responsively, anticipate/solve problems dynamically.
Able to keep accurate records, analyse safety performance related data, and produce concise and accurate reports with reasonable recommendations where required.
Willing to travel and work away for up to 3 weeks. With annual travel between 15 – 20 weeks across the season.
Have a can-do and solution focused attitude to safety management and enable creativity with production teams.
Able to maintain professional confidentiality relating to personal or sensitive information.
Possess the confidence to present or brief large groups of people.
Keen to develop their personal development.
