Red Bull Powertrains have an exciting Industrial Student Placement opportunity for an undergraduate to spend a year as part of our Mechanical Simulation team. The placement will run for one year from the summer of 2025, and offers an enthusiastic student the opportunity to develop their existing skills in our open and dynamic environment.
Working in the Mechanical Simulation team you will build, run, interrogate, and validate numerical simulations of our Power Unit to maximise its performance and reliability. Working alongside colleagues from multiple Mechanical Design teams, the successful candidate will have a keen interest in mechanical design, simulation, and development.
Expected Knowledge and Experience:
- Knowledge and experience from at least one year of undergraduate study on either a mathematics, physics, or engineering-based degree course
- Knowledge of either FEA, CFD, or other numerical modelling tools to solve engineering problems
- Experience writing and preparing technical reports and documentation
- Experience handling, processing, and understanding data from simulations or physical testing

- Ability to follow best practice and work on multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills and experience working in a team environment
- Ability to logically and methodically investigate faults, failures, and solve problems
