We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Mid-Level Design Engineer to join our dynamic design and development engineering team. In this role, you will play a vital role within our Defense and contract manufacturing group assisting with the development and implementation of innovative design solutions. You will work closely with senior engineers, junior engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to contribute to the creation of advanced products and systems.

- Collaborate with senior engineers and business development personnel, to understand project requirements and design objectives.
- Conduct swift assessments of Engineering concepts across diverse fields
- Perform trade studies and physics based analysis for innovative engineering challenges
- Design, implement and test intricate electromechanical systems
- Create detailed technical drawings, 2D/3D models, and specifications for a rugged environment
- Participate in product design reviews and contribute ideas for design improvements.
- Take ownership of specific projects including timelines and goals.
- Conduct research to gather relevant technical data and information to support design decisions.
- Assist in performing engineering calculations as needed.
- Support the development and testing of prototypes, documenting findings, and providing feedback.
- Collaborate with Electrical Engineers to plan the integration of electrical systems into vehicle architecture, considering such parameters as space, weight, and thermal management.
- Help mentor junior design engineers and interns.
- Assist with the documentation and maintenance of design files and records.
- Feel comfortable with a dynamic and fast-paced, highly variable business.
- Work within an ISO and PPAP quality domain.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities in previous professional projects
- Embrace a variety of roles as needed
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in the field is required.
Computer skills: Knowledge of CAD software, preferably Siemens NX and Teamcenter. FEA experience specifically with Ansys is a plus.
This role subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements and as such, U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident or U.S. Person Status Required.
