We have a new opportunity to be part of the Pattern Shop team in the role of CNC Machinist – Late Shift working Tues-Fri – 17:00-3:30.
The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, hardworking, knowledgeable
of Composite Machining practices and standards, flexible, proactive and have a ‘can do’ attitude.
The Successful candidate should have the following attributes:
Previous extensive experience of setting and operating 5 axis CNC machines with a Siemens and/or Heidenhain control.
Experience of Pattern Shop processes and machining epoxy tooling block patterns, jigs, and moulds.
Experience of machining complex moulded carbon fibre components and inserts to tight tolerances – ideally class A Formula One Components inc. Chassis, Gearbox, Nose, Suspension etc.
An ability to work with minimal supervision and make informed decisions when support may not be available.
A desire to work with others to improve and create processes and drive improvement within the department.
Knowledge of Openmind Hypermill software would be an advantage.
Experience using Renishaw probes to set parts/MSP software would be an advantage.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
A methodical and thorough approach to your work.
Able to work with minimal supervision.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal, combined with the ability to work well with colleagues.
Be self-motivated, enthusiastic and a dependable team player.
Possess good IT skills.
Have a positive attitude and be willing to help throughout the department.
Work well under pressure to meet time critical deadlines.
A willingness to work extra hours as required.
The Key responsibilities of this role are:
Operating 5 Axis CNC machines using both Siemens and Heidenhain Controls to machine composite components, epoxy tooling block patterns, jigs and fixtures.
Assisting within other areas of the department as required.
Ability to deal with technical challenges as they arise and know when to ask if unsure.
Meeting challenging and demanding deadlines.
Maintaining consistent high standards.
Being proactively aware of Health and Safety requirements.
