Job Description
The Maintenance and Controls Group Leader is responsible for leading maintenance and automation teams to ensure the reliability, availability, and continuous improvement of plant equipment and automated systems. This role oversees preventive and corrective maintenance, supports operational continuity, and drives the implementation of control and automation solutions in alignment with GMS standards.
The position operates under a rotating 4x3 schedule with 12-hour shifts , including weekends, and requires coordination with operations, quality, and engineering teams to meet business objectives.
Key Responsibilities

Lead a team of hourly employees, ensuring effective performance, development, and engagement.

Ensure equipment maintainability through preventive and corrective maintenance activities

Diagnose and resolve failures in automated systems, production lines, and control systems

Develop, program, and optimize automation systems (PLC, HMI, robotics, sensors, actuators)

Integrate and maintain industrial robots (e.g., Fanuc) and automation systems

Monitor and drive performance metrics (SPQRS) and ensure compliance with GMS standards

Coordinate activities with operations and engineering to ensure production continuity

Manage and improve industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, Profinet, etc.)

Lead automation and controls projects from design to implementation and startup

Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards

Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles

Document system changes and ensure proper technical traceability

Provide technical guidance, training, and support to maintenance and operations teams
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Automation, Control Engineering, or related field

Minimum 2 years of experience (at least 1.5 years in manufacturing environments)

Experience in maintenance and controls within industrial or manufacturing settings

Intermediate English level (conversational and technical reading comprehension)
Technical Skills

PLC programming (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar)

Industrial robotics integration and programming (Fanuc preferred)

Industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, Profinet, ControlNet)

Interpretation of electrical, mechanical, and control diagrams

SCADA and HMI systems

Core problem-solving methodologies (RCA, 8D, FMEA)
