Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Automotive Expert to build up and commission Rigs and Mule Cars from E/E architecture point of view. Set up measurement devices and prototype ECUs to get complete vehicle rigs and mules in a running state. Use of On-Board Diagnostics systems and deep knowledge in electrical architectures and wiring for our next-generation vehicles are main focus. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of automotive diagnostics standards, protocols and physical wiring and power supplied, as well as expertise in build up and integrating electrical architectures for advanced vehicle functionalities.
Roles & Responsibilities
Daily use of On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) systems for compliance with regulatory requirements, including OBD-II (On-Board Diagnostics II) standards and emissions regulations (e.g., OBD mandates by EPA and CARB).
Define, document and execute diagnostic strategies, fault detection and isolation (FDI) algorithms, and diagnostic trouble code (DTC) generation rules for various vehicle subsystems, including powertrain, chassis, and body electronics.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, hardware engineers, and compliance specialists, to integrate OBD functionalities into vehicle electronic control units (ECUs) and embedded software.
Stay updated on the latest advancements in automotive E/E and measurement device technologies, standards and provide technical expertise and guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders.
Executing the build up and optimization of rigs and mules physical electric architectures for vehicle systems, including power distribution, energy management, and communication networks, to enable advanced testing for new SW functions such as electrification, connectivity, and autonomous driving.
Define and document electrical architecture requirements, specifications, and interfaces, and ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 26262 for functional safety) and cybersecurity principles.
Collaborate with vehicle system architects, hardware designers, and software developers to integrate electric architectures into vehicle platforms, ensuring scalability, flexibility, and robustness.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for testing facility issues during vehicle development and participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions as needed.
