Job Description:
Take advantage of a rare opportunity to join the journey of building the world-leading gigafactories for Stellantis already from the start. We are looking for an outstanding profile to team up with our partners & JVs to develop Battery cells manufacturing processes within the Corporate UPE (Underbody Process Engineering) organization.
Your mission, taking advantage of your experience in the Automotive industry, will be to support, challenge, work together with our battery cells suppliers, JV’s & partners to improve all their KPI, most importantly cost (CAPEX as well as OPEX), quality & schedule performance of their factory models & implementations to ensure their deliverables on time.
Thanks to this relationship, you will also support the Stellantis Manufacturing Engineering team to become skilled in the field of Battery Cells process.
The candidate should be an experienced leader, be able to manage complex relationships and preferably have some skills in Battery Cells Manufacturing. Business will be mainly located in Europe & North America.

Purpose and Main activities
- Define the proper Design for Manufacturing and Design to Recycle activities during Product-Process co-design with the goal of reduce product/process diversity, granting feasibility and reduction of Initial Costs and Running Costs
- Define for new projects in planning phase: solutions, assumptions and cost estimations for scenario analysis.
- Develop the process sequenceincluding Machinery and Equipment within specified area
- Review Technical specification issued by JVs, finalized to a complete sourcing process followed by process consolidation, installation and qualification
- Take part in Process FMEA
- Granting the level of Process Quality defined within area
- Review technical solutions and process related decisions implemented by our JVs, led by CAPEX, OPEX, CO2 emissions minimization as well as high Quality result orientations.
- Support the plant during launch to reach the project scopes in terms of cycle time, machine/line efficiency and productivity
- Establish lessons learned and improve, processes in a continuous way
- Realize tech-watch and in-depth benchmark on both equipment level (process suppliers) and electrode process (cells suppliers), review trend of market & lab, university, supplier proposals
- Lead definition of Worldwide Technical Policy & Excellent Gigafactory Model in the area of Chemistry/Electrode (Powder/Raw materials, Mixing, Coating, Baking, Calendaring, slitting)
- Support process development for cell assembly and formation
Qualifications:
- Master Degree in Chemistry, Mechanical or Physics Engineering or equivalent
- 5/10 years of experience within relevant area
- Automotive Assembly process competence (methods, equipment machinery)
- English language (C1 - CEFR)
- Skills in battery cells manufacturing as well as chemistry are preferred
- Experience on digital tools to support Process Engineering (i.e. PLM system for BoM and product/process 2D/3D drawings, simulation tools, data repositories)
