The role of HSE Manager
In this role, you will ensure that all our production, laboratory and support processes take place in accordance with the relevant requirements and legislation and regulations in the field of health, safety and environment. You will monitor safety and limit the environmental impact of our installations and our business activities as much as possible and you will make proposals for the optimization of this.
In this role you will look for solutions in the field of occupational hygiene and occupational safety during the design phase and during modification of chemical processes, according to current standards from legislation and regulations and the vision and strategy of the organization. You will conduct research, advise and provide information on solutions in the field of safety and occupational hygiene, with the aim of allowing employees to work in a safe and healthy working environment. In addition to the role of HSE Manager, you will also be active as a Prevention Officer for the entire Toray location in Nijverdal.
Functional purpose and content

(Co-)drafting and carrying out the risk inventory and evaluation (RI&E).

Advising and working closely with management and the works council on the measures to be taken for a good working conditions policy.

Write down the measures in action plans and (jointly) implement and evaluate them.

Establishing a policy regarding hazardous substances.
-
Assessing the presence and use of chemical substances
-
CMR exposure determinations; making and executing measurement plans.
-
Collecting, analyzing and interpreting research data, reporting and advising on measures to be taken and supervising implementation.

Supporting process engineers and technical services in modifications of processes and installations together with external partners.

You assess received Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and provide input for MSDSs to be issued.

Assess physical load (workplace design/ergonomics/confined spaces) and physical factors (noise/vibrations/dust/climate/overpressure/lighting).

Advising on the necessary use of PPE (safety equipment in production, laboratory and loading chemical stations).

First aid information and instruction.

Identifying and reporting occupational health and safety bottlenecks.

Periodic inspection rounds are carried out to check whether Arbo guidelines are being complied with.

To be an occupational health and safety reporting point for dangerous situations, (near) incidents and occupational health and safety complaints.

Analyzing and evaluating dangerous situations, (near) incidents and occupational health and safety complaints.

Evaluating the functioning of the occupational health and safety system (policy) in light of the stated objectives.
Your profile

HBO work and thinking level, preferably in the direction of HSE or Chemical Technology.

In possession of a Higher Safety Expert (HVK) diploma or you are willing to obtain this diploma through Toray
-
Excellent knowledge of legislation, regulations and relevant standards.

You are accurate and analytical and thanks to your communication skills and persuasiveness you communicate easily at all levels in the organization.

You are proactive and able to work in a problem-solving manner.

You have a customer-oriented attitude and you can easily empathize with someone else's situation.

You are a team player who participates in various projects and can take the lead where applicable.

You have excellent Dutch and English communication skills, both oral and written.
