McLaren are looking for a talented Senior Buyer - Powertrain at their Woking office. This role sits at the heart of strategic decision-making, turning market data into actionable insights for a company that's revolutionising the automotive industry. You'll work directly with leadership to shape the company's direction in the powertrain sector.

About the Role

As a Senior Buyer - Powertrain, you will be responsible for developing and updating Category Strategies on critical commodities aligned with Technology Roadmaps and future product plans. You will lead supplier identification, selection, and relationship management with key suppliers, ensuring McLaren is a customer of choice. You will also lead on supplier nominations with collaborative cross-functional support, negotiate, execute, and monitor complex contractual agreements with strategic suppliers, and ensure McLaren's commercial position is protected.

Accountabilities

  • Develop and update Category Strategies on critical commodities aligned with Technology Roadmaps and future product plans.
  • Lead supplier identification, selection, and relationship management with key suppliers, ensuring McLaren is a customer of choice.
  • Lead on supplier nominations with collaborative cross-functional support.
  • Negotiate, execute, and monitor complex contractual agreements with strategic suppliers, and ensure McLaren's commercial position is protected.

The Candidate we're looking for

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management.

Technical skills:

  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes and cost drivers.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.

Personal attributes:

  • Passion for purchasing and innovation.
  • Strong attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Self-motivated and ambitious, with a desire to progress within McLaren.
