Experience:
Hello!
I have been fortunate enough to take advantage of a number of great opportunities, including:
• Formula Ford - Race Mechanic
I am being mentored by Greg Fahey on the setup, repair and running of Formula Ford Kents (VanDiemens).
• SailGP TeamGER - Intern
I helped the team in boat maintenance and setup, as well as the SailGP fleet in launching and docking as an 'Inspire' intern.
• TeamArrow Racing Association - Dynamics Lead (Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels and Tyres)
I led the dynamics team of Australia's premier solar car racing team during a year of a complete redesign of the steering, suspension, brakes, and wheels. I am implementing the worlds first variable-rate capstan bowstring steering in a motor vehicle to decrease energy lost due to unwanted lateral movement during the race. As Secretary and then Project Manager, I also managed the timeline, risk and cost of a development of a complete redesign of the TeamArrow solar vehicle.
• PWR - Jr. Quality Assurance Engineer
I led the development of the first 67% of the PFMEA's in the manufacturing business as an undergraduate. I manage all calibrations, tracking and purchasing of over 1000 gauges in the Australian manufacturing facility. I also engaged in a variety of quality assurance and quality control duties.
• KirksWorks Race Service - Workshop Assistant
I volunteer in my little free time to help the small business which does end to end race car builds, modifications and fabrication. Although I am still only starting out I enjoy being involved with this kind of work and am keen on learning so much more.
Education
Griffith University - Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Honours) / Bachelor of Aviation
Due to finish in November 2025
Highlights (so far) include
1508ENG Digital Design and Modelling - I achieved the highest grade in my cohort for this course and have tutored privately for it.
Introductory 3D parametric modelling (CAD) using Solidworks, and the drafting of technical documentation according to AS1100 technical drawing standards.
2701ENG Aircraft Practical - I manufactured the landing gear supports and the rear half of the fuselage with 3 other students and documented the process accordingly.
Construction of aircraft mechanical and electrical components by building part of a full scale Zenith STOL CH 701 kit plane.
4000ENG Research Methods and Statistics - I was recommended to pursue a PhD as feedback for my report analysing the effects of high speed railway tunnels on surrounding communities and environments.
Develop skills needed to conduct quality engineering research and statistical analysis of data, in both industry and academic contexts.
