Join the FIA and lead a transformative agenda at the intersection of global sport, mobility, and corporate responsibility. As Director of Sustainability, you will be the architect of the Federation’s environmental future, ensuring we deliver on our strategic goals and carbon reduction commitments.
You will have a central role in translating the FIA’s global sustainability agenda into measurable progress across our Sport, Mobility, and Corporate divisions. You will build and manage a high-performing multidisciplinary team (7 FTEs), drive ISO certifications, and ensure our environmental strategy is executed with credibility and energy. Your expertise will be critical in positioning the FIA as a global leader in sustainable governance. You will report to the Secretary General for Mobility & Sustainability.
MISSIONS ET RESPONSABILITES :
STRATEGY, GOVERNANCE & REPORTING
- Define and implement the FIA Sustainability Roadmap, ensuring alignment with the wider FIA Strategy.
- Establish and monitor carbon budgets for each department; hold teams accountable for targets and ensure financial and environmental tracking.
- Supervise carbon accounting, data analysis, and annual sustainability reporting to ensure transparency and progress.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the President and Senior Leadership on sustainability policy and global environmental trends.
PROGRAMME DELIVERY & IMPLEMENTATION
- Oversee the execution of all sustainability projects across Sport, Mobility, and Corporate functions.
- Drive and maintain critical certification processes, specifically ISO 14001 and ISO 20121.
- Manage the Sustainability Team fostering a culture of high performance.
- Ensure technical mastery in the delivery of the FIA’s six strategic sustainability goals.
STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT & ADVOCACY
- Lead internal communications in partnership with the Corporate Communications department; make sustainability visible, engaging, and central to the FIA narrative.
- Represent the FIA externally with federations, sport bodies, partners, and regulators, acting as a diplomat for the Federation’s environmental agenda.
- Navigate a matrix structure to engage internal and external stakeholders
PROFIL :
- University degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10–15 years of progressive experience in sustainability within large, complex organizations.
- Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams with a track record of effective management.
- Deep expertise in carbon reporting, ISO standards, and sustainability frameworks (GHG Protocol, SBTi, SDGs).
- Strong diplomatic and communication skills – respected, persuasive, and resilient.
- Comfortable operating in matrix structures with significant experience in high-level stakeholder management.
- Strategic vision combined with technical mastery and cross-cultural agility.
- Fluency English is required.
